ABOUT FERABA

The award winning company - FERABA- A.R.T., a New York City based touring company, is a multicultural and multiethnic performance group, fusing the traditional sounds and movements of West Africa with the only true American dance form of Tap.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

In the heart of New York City, Irene Koloseus, an accomplished Austrian tap dancer, and Abou Sylla, a world-renown African balafon player, envisioned a blend of music and dance that would unite their histories and love for both traditional West African music/dance and the uniquely American art form of tap dance.

Formed in 1996, Feraba’s explosive and unique style continues to excite and inspire audiences throughout the world.
